I’m refreshing this blog as I get ready to turn 32 in a month! I’ve definitely made some progress on many of these and I have to say, I’m pretty proud of myself. Many, MANY more to go, but we’re moving in the right direction, right?!
This week I turned 31, and have accepted the fact that I am officially in my 30’s. Instead of dwelling on all the things I wanted to accomplish by the time I’m 30, I’m focusing on the next 10 years, with a “30 Things To Do & Learn in My Thirties” list! In no particular order….
Meghan’s “30 Things To Do & Learn in My Thirties” List
- Rescue a dog (or two) from Animal House Shelter – CHECK! Meet Emmy
- Foster dogs to help them get adopted – CHECK! Fostered sweet Thelma for a month
- Go on a solo European trip
- Experience a full on spa vacation in Arizona
- Invest in my genuine friendships
- Ask for a raise, because I deserve it
- Actually take care of my health, you are no longer 20 – Working on it!
- If I decide to have kids, do so
- Learn to cook actual meals, not just microwave things – Not burning anything anymore, does that count?
- Enjoy more red wine – Double CHECK!
- Take more strides towards managing my anxiety – One day at a time
- Become excellent at accounting and taxes (#smallbizproblems)
- Say “yes” to plans more often, when I really want to say “no”
- Volunteer more of my time
- Delete all student loan debt
- Pay off my credit card bill, for good!
- Learn a new creative skill – CHECK! Picked back up knitting that my grandma taught me years ago
- Become an expert in portrait photography (edited to be ‘portrait’ instead of ‘wedding’)
- Marie Kondo my condo
- Take a week long vacation somewhere new every year – So far on track, heading to Hawaii in June!
- Read more, watch less TV
- Journal more to relieve stress
- Become really good at doing my hair and makeup
- Actually figure out my retirement plan, while also contributing to it
- Invest in really nice bed sheets, like Egyptian cotton nice
- Take more bubble baths
- See all 7 wonders of the world
- Create photo albums of the pictures from growing up
- Print more photos, you can never have enough printed photos – YES! Bought new frames last week to print some pictures
- Be happy everyday, not all day everyday, but everyday
